Grantee Training
We train our grantees in theory and methods in modern linguistic language documentation and archiving. We run one training each year for the new cohort of grantees. The training takes place in Berlin and it encompasses sessions on:
• modern language documentation theory and language use and multimodality
• equipment choice and audiovisual recording techniques
• lexicography and dictionary making using FleX and transcription using ELAN
• data management and meta data creation using lameta
Throughout the lifetime or the grant we support our grantees with advice on all aspects of their language documentation project. We also create teaching resources like help sheets and explainer videos. We run a Youtube channel with out videos accessible for everybody.
